Here is more NFL injury updates week 15 Sunday night football from reporters as we head toward the Sunday matchups:
NFL Injury Updates week 15
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered an ankle injury.
In the Dolphins’ Monday night loss to the Tennessee Titans, the league’s top receiver sustained an ankle injury that limited him to just 47% of the team’s offensive snaps. Hill was allowed to play again, but he hasn’t practiced this week and is unlikely to play against the New York Jets on Sunday. Hill’s availability, according to coach Mike McDaniel, can depend on whether the All-Pro and his staff feel there is no chance the injury to his ankle will worsen. This is a decision that might come down to the last second, even for one of the most resilient players in the game.
QB C.J. Stroud and WR Nico Collins of the Houston Texans both suffered calf and concussions.
In the official injury report released on Friday, Stroud was graded as doubtful. This week, practice reps were split between Davis Mills and Case Keenum, who might both start on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Collins was rated as doubtful because he didn’t practice during the week.
Final update on WR Nico Collins, he was listed as questionable for Sunday due to a calf injury, is not expected to play vs. the Titans, per Adam Schefter
With an ankle injury, rookie edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. was ruled out.
QB Kenny Pickett of the Pittsburgh Steelers has an ankle injury.
After undergoing TightRope surgery to help in his recovery from a high ankle sprain, Pickett will be out once more. Mitch Trubisky will start the game in his place for the second time in a row. While Pickett is out, players Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, Alex Highsmith, and T.J. Watt, who were all listed on the practice injury report with different injuries, do not have an injury designation and are anticipated to play against the Indianapolis Colts.
Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, New Orleans Saints Ankle Injury
After hurting his ankle against the Carolina Panthers last week, coach Dennis Allen said Olave will be evaluated at game time. Olave has been sick with the flu for the previous five practices and hasn’t practiced at all this week.
Both QB/TE Taysom Hill (left hand/foot) and WR Rashid Shaheed (thigh) practiced fully on Friday and do not have any designated injuries, so both should be prepared to play Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, Geno Smith, groin
Due to a groin injury sustained on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, Smith’s availability for the Seahawks’ Monday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles is still questionable. Pete Carroll, however, seemed upbeat about Smith’s progress on Thursday, saying the quarterback is “feeling really good.” Smith has returned to practice.
Brian Robinson Jr., running back, Washington Commanders Hamstring injury
Robinson hurt his hamstring during a Dec. 3 defeat to Miami, thus he was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Robinson wasn’t able to practice this week, so even though Washington had a bye on December 10, the extra time did not help. Both Chris Rodriguez, a rookie, and Antonio Gibson will be working longer hours. Jonathan Williams, a veteran, might also see a few shots.
Groin injury suffered by Cleveland Browns Safety Grant Delpit
For the duration of the regular season, at the very least, the Browns will be without their best tackler. Delpit was placed on injured reserve by Cleveland this week, but if the Browns make it to the postseason, there’s a chance he may play again.
New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas suffered a concussion.
Douglas should be available for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Bill Belichick, who announced on Friday that the player had cleared the concussion protocol. Douglas did not play in the previous two games. Belichick stated, “He should be available assuming no setbacks.” Douglas is on track to overtake injured receivers Rhamondre Stevenson (38) and Kendrick Bourne (37) as the team’s top receiver with 36 receptions for 410 yards this season.
Baltimore Ravens’ Kyle Hamilton, S, suffered a sprained left knee.
Coach John Harbaugh stated following practice on Friday that Hamilton had a “good” chance of playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday night. According to Harbaugh, “He’s in an optimal place [physically].” Hamilton had just sporadic practice involvement this week due to an injured left knee that occurred on Sunday. Throughout practice, he had a brace on his knee. Hamilton stated that his decision to play was “up in the air” on Wednesday. “I tried to stay as positive as possible, and fortunate for me that it wasn’t as serious as it could have been,” Hamilton stated.
Denver Broncos OLB Nik Bonitto suffered a left knee injury.
In the first half of the Broncos’ victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last Thursday, Bonitto sustained his injury. He will not play against the Detroit Lions on Saturday night. In order to help in the outside linebacker rotation, the Broncos will likely give rookie Drew Sanders more playing time; Bonitto’s contribution might go unnoticed. In addition to leading the Broncos with seven sacks, Bonitto produces pressure at one of the highest rates in the whole NFL.
Ankle injured: Malik Hooker, S., Dallas Cowboys
Despite the injury, he was able to continue playing against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite missing two practice days, he was able to complete the walkthrough on Friday, and it is hoped that he will be ready to practice on Saturday before the team departs for Buffalo. The current consensus is that he will be available, but if things change, the Cowboys will use Juanyeh Thomas in place of Donovan Wilson and Jayron Kearse as their third safety.
The Atlanta Falcons’ Jake Matthews, LT, Chris Lindstrom, RG, Drew Dalman, C, and Kaleb McGary, RT
Injury: Knee (McGary, Matthews); Ankle (Lindstrom, Dalman)
On Atlanta’s offensive line, four of the five starters—Matthews, Lindstrom, Dalman, and McGary—are either out or questionable. McGary will once again be replaced at right tackle by Storm Norton. It is anticipated that practice squad player Tyler Vrabel will replace Matthews, the left tackle; Ryan Neuzil will replace Dalman, the center, for the second consecutive game; and Kyle Hinton will replace Lindstrom, the right guard. While Lindstrom declined to confirm if he will play on Sunday, he did tell ESPN on Friday that he was “definitely going to give it a try and just keep on the plan that we have set.”
Darren Waller, tight end with the New York Giants, hamstring injury
This week, Waller was allowed to practice and complete reps during team practice. “No problems,” he declared during practice on Friday. After missing the previous five games, Waller anticipates playing on Sunday versus the New Orleans Saints. Darren Waller is expected to play vs. the Saints, per Adam schefter https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1736242102361526340?s=20
Tennessee Titans’ Jeffery Simmons, a DT, has a right knee injury.
This will be Simmons’ second consecutive game missed. The injury to the Pro Bowl lineman happened during Tennessee’s Week 12 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth quarter. Because of the injuries, Simmons requires the use of a brace. It has been two weeks since Simmons last practiced.
Shoulder injury for Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco
Pacheco underwent surgery, which head coach Andy Reid described as a “cleanup procedure,” and will miss his second straight week of action. During the offseason, Pacheco underwent surgery on the same shoulder. Next week, he could go back to practice.
Jonathan Taylor, running back; Braden Smith, center, Indianapolis Colts
Following his recent thumb surgery, Taylor will miss his third straight game. His playmaking has been missed by the Colts lately, and without him, the running game has stagnated. In the two games Taylor has been out this month, the Colts have only managed one spectacular run (a 12-yard carry).
This week, Smith will also be out of commission again, and the timing couldn’t be worse. Without one of their greatest linemen, the Colts will have to block Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt (14 sacks). Smith will be replaced from the start by rookie Blake Freeland.
Chicago Bears’ DJ Moore, wide receiver; Jaquan Brisker, safety; ankle; groin
In Week 14, Moore was tackled on his third and last carry against the Detroit Lions, causing an ankle injury. He was limited in his participation on Thursday and practiced in full on Friday, but his ailment prevented him from participating in Wednesday’s practice. It did not affect him in the game. Despite being labeled as doubtful on the final injury report, Bears wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert stated that Moore will be “ready to roll” when Chicago plays the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. In contrast, Brisker is nursing a groin injury following a career-high Seventeen tackles against the Lions. On Wednesday, he was restricted, didn’t practice on Thursday, and returned to his limited ability on Friday.
Final report on Bears’ WR D.J. Moore who was listed as questionable for Sunday due to an ankle injury, is expected to play vs. the Browns, per Adam Schefter. https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1736241977719439633?s=20
CBs Jamel Dean and Carlton Davis III for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Injury: ankle, foot, and groin
Davis will miss Sunday’s game at the Green Bay Packers. Last week, Davis made a crucial interception in the Buccaneers’ victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Davis didn’t work out during the week. Zyon McCollum, a second-year cornerback who has started 13 games so far this season, will receive the start. In the meantime, fellow starter Dean is improving after missing the previous three weeks due to an ankle/foot ailment sustained in Week 11. It’s promising that he participated fully in Thursday’s practice in anticipation of his return.
Coach Todd Bowles has stated that two more defensive starters, LB Devin White (foot) and DT Vita Vea (toe), shall be evaluated at game time.
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon injured his right thumb.
Fortunately, Aaron Jones looks set to make a comeback from his knee injury after missing three games (though he was still listed as questionable). Dillon’s right thumb was broken late in the Packers’ loss to the New York Giants on Monday night, and the Packers are unsure if he will be able to grip the ball well enough with the wrap to protect it. Dillon made an experiment at Friday’s practice, and it was deemed dubious. Packers coach Matt LaFleur stated, “They had it padded up pretty well, so we’ll just see where we’re standing with that.”
Quadriceps injury suffered by Jacksonville Jaguars CB Tyson Campbell
After missing his first four games due to a hamstring issue, Campbell will miss his second straight game overall. Campbell will be replaced by second-year player Montaric Brown, who will make his sixth start. The Jaguars will only have half of their starting secondary ready against the Baltimore Ravens due to safety Andre Cisco’s (groin) absence from the game.
WR Tutu Atwell (concussion)
Tutu Atwell suffered Concussion during last week’s overtime loss against the Baltimore Ravens.
Rams’ WR Tutu Atwell, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a concussion, is unlikely to play vs. the Commanders, per Adam Schefter.
Players like as Tyler Higbee, Jerome Ford, Amari Cooper, Rashid Shaheed, Taysom Hill, Dalton Schultz, and Dalton Kincaid are expected to play on Sunday despite missing practice.
These were the last minute updates from NFL injury updates for week 15 before we head up into the Sunday night football.
