Look at the clubs of Louis Oosthuizen that Back to Back DP World Tour winner used

Louis Oosthuizen

One of the most successful golfers in South Africa, Louis Oosthuizen has won on several continents, most notably the 2010 Open Championship at St Andrews. Recently he won back to back on DP world Tour winning Mauritius Open and ALFRED DUNHILL CHAMPIONSHIP . Louis Oosthuizen has predominantly utilized Ping clubs during his professional career, though the South African has on occasion used an unusual substitute. Here, we examine the contents of his bag right now.

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN WHAT’S IN THE BAG?

DRIVER

Over the last couple of years the South African seemed to be switching his driver a fair amount. At one point, he had the Ping G425 Max in his setup, and then next week, the Ping G400 went back in. What we can say though is that, at the most recent event he played in, Oosthuizen had a Ping G400 with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green 60 6.5 shaft. But according to Ping official site he has G430 LST driver with 10.5 shaft Fujikura Ventus

Louis has hit 67.59% of fairways in 2023 on LIV golf tour and his average driving distance on Liv tour has been 296.2 yards

FAIRWAYS

TAYLORMADE SIM2, PING G

Once more, Louis Oosthuizen has repeatedly chopped and switched out the clubs in this region. He changed his i25 and G410 versions with a Ping G425 3-wood and 5-wood throughout the past year or so. The South African did, however, recently have a TaylorMade SIM2 and a Ping G model in his bag.

IRONS

PING BLUEPRINT

Ping makes a comeback to the Oosthuizen bag in the irons, where a four-iron down to the pitching wedge has the Ping Blueprint. Once more, the South African will increase the set to include a three-iron according on the course and conditions.

Again, though, Oosthuizen has periodically switched out Ping iron brands. At the beginning of the 2021–2022 PGA Tour season, he was seen using Ping i210 irons, which are known for their forgiveness, particularly when used on the higher end of the bag. The True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts that come with the irons are one thing they have in common.

Oosthuizen has been 70% greens in regulation on LIv tour.

WEDGES

PING GLIDE 4.0, CALLAWAY MACK DADDY PM GRIND

Additionally, Oosthuizen’s wedge position shifted. Prior to switching to Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth models, he had been using three Callaway Jaws MD5s. Though we think he also frequently packs a Callaway Mack Daddy PM Grind 60 degree model, it looks like he now has three Ping Glide 4.0 wedges with lofts of 50, 54, and 60 degrees.

PUTTER

PING PLD VOSS PROTOTYPE/PING PLD ANSER 2

Looking at the sweet spot, the Ping PLD Voss Prototype has been the South African’s go-to flatstick for a lot of years, making it the club that has been in his bag the longest. Nevertheless, he has also been seen using a more recent Ping PLD Anser 2 device.

We think it’s a Stability Shaft Tour with a Ping PP58 midsize full cord grip based on his typical gamer specs.

Oosthuizen had putting average of 1.61 in 2023 on LIV golf tour.
